Rose Tarlow Raffles Lamp with Black Oval Shade
LAM-009
A beautiful, Rose Tarlow Raffles Table Lamp! Handcrafted, ceramic base in pale, off-white, matte-crackle finish. Topped with a black silk shade, contrasting its feminine silhouette, possessing a luxurious, yet understated, sophisticated luxury. Although its exact production date is unknown, it came with a Rose Tarlow paper label (that was damaged in transit) and handwritten construction notes marked on the bottom side of the base, making it truly special. It’s easy to assume coming from an estate in Los Angeles, it may have been one of her original prototypes. If you enjoy a story with great provenance, this lamp is for you!
Rose Tarlow is considered a living design legend, one of the most original and respected talents in the design industry today. Tarlow is a highly acclaimed interior designer, furniture and textile designer, and author of Private House based in Los Angeles, California. Known for mixing traditional and modern aesthetics with casual elements like reclaimed wood, French oak beams, plaster, stone, and other rugged materials. She seamlessly blends antiques (characteristically English, French & East Asian) with minimalism, creating chic Californian interiors. Her A-List clients include David Geffen, Oprah, Barbara Walters, and others. Editor Marian McEvoy wrote in Veranda magazine that Tarlow, Albert Hadley, Jacques Grange, Michael Taylor, Renzo Mongiardino, and John Stefanidis, were six interior designers who had an "enormous impact" on "the design world." Tarlow’s pieces are appreciated for their craftsmanship and timeless Californian appeal. If you enjoy a story with great provenance, this lamp is for you!
